The Renaissance Tailor Store is closed for business.

Twenty-three years ago, I opened this store with the idea of providing quality bespoke items to customers large and small. It's been a lovely two decades and I've enjoyed interacting with customers, getting to know retun customers, and creating many different items. My life has moved in a different direction which leads me away from this work into other avenues of creative production. Thank you for your support and business throughout the years.

For Theater Productions

Full Table of Elizabethan RuffsWe've produced a number of large scale orders for Theaters over the years. We love working with theater groups to make sure that our product will do for them what they need as well as look great on stage. Often, we use a cotton-polyester blend instead of linen, to ensure that our items stand up to the constant washing to which theater costumes can be subjected. Send us an email to learn more!

The Lost Colony / William Ivey Long Studios

We began working with The Lost Colony and William Ivey Long Studios in early 2008, by helping them replace items lost in the fire that claimed their costume workshop and storage building. Over the course of three months, we produced over 60 individual ruffs, cuff sets and specifically designed ruffs and delivered all of it in time for their 2008 season. We have continued our relationship by producing more stock items for them such as cotton-polyester ruffs which stand up extremely well under the wear and tear that the Lost Colony's costumes go through during their long and busy season.

Lyric Opera of Chicago Elizabethan RuffsLyric Opera Chicago

We worked with Lyric Opera Chicago to produce for them ruffs that their performers could wear to enhance their costumes but that would not bind them at the neck. Over the course of two months, we produced and delivered nearly two dozen ruffs.

The British Shakespeare Company

We began our relationship with the British Shakespeare Company, located in London, England, when we delivered half a dozen ruffs to them to supplement their costumes for that season. The next year, they asked us to deliver over a dozen ruffs and ruff & cuff sets in time for the beginning of their season opening. Over the course of a couple of months we were able to manage this project and get it shipped to London on time.

Othello Cavalier Collars and CuffsDark Horse Productions

We were asked to produce a dozen Cavalier collars and cuffs as well as a number of sets of boot hose for an off-Broadway production of 'Othello'. This was one of our first big theater productions and we really enjoyed the challenge.
