A Scrappy Embroidered Hat
This particular embroidery project is made entirely of left-over elements from other past projects. The base wool is scrap from a project finished almost ten years ago. The scraps have been in my wool scrap bin since then. I've made several items from this scrap, including the September/October 2008 project.
The motif itself is also made from left-over scraps; the tulip shape was from a project which didn't get further than the planning stage. The leaves were left over from the May/June 2009 project. I had originally wanted to place leaves all around the central rondel motif in that project but decided against it.
The embroidery is carried out in perl cotton using several colors that are very close in color to blend them together.
