Anglo-Saxon Step-Up Coat
My husband and I became Baron and Baroness of the Barony of Dragon's Laire in November, 2010. This was my step-up coat, patterned after a couple of Anglo-Saxon sources; The burial clothing of the grand-daughter of Alfred the Great and the Sutton Hoo burial. The cuffs in the Sutton Hoo burial were woven in soumack but I didn't have enough time to do that so I embroidered them, as can be seen to the left. I'm not a fan of geometrics so it was a challenge.
Embroidery is carried out in perl cotton and metalic perl on fulled wool..
